I think there are a lot of factors regarding TA.
1. He was injured all during training camp and never got comfortable in this system.
2. McVay has a lot of weapons and one of the top offenses in football. He didn't need TA production
3. I am confident if given the time and need McVay can figure out how to get the ball to TA in space
4. I am confident that TA if he gets the ball in space will do some really good things
5. I am hopeful that McVay uses this week to figure out how to exploit TA talents and gives playoff opponents something else to worry about.
Who cares what Lombardi says, certainly you cannot complain about our offensive production, it is not McVay fault TA was injured all preseason and McVay is focused on winning and he has done that. Yes I wish we had figured out how to get TA the ball in space consistently because he would make some big play if we did. I don't fault McVay for not doing it because I refuse to complain about an offense that his already humming along and getting TA going requires making some subtle changes to the offense.
Exactly.....
Will be interesting to see what they do moving forward. He is going to have to take a pretty good pay cut or be released IMO. Hoping he takes the pay cut because he has been a part of this teams success on offense weather you want to admit it or not.
He's been a part of the team's success but very very hard to see him coming back. First, the pay cut, yes. But he finds himself on a team w/stars (Cooper, Gurley) or near/budding stars (Kupp, Wood, Watkins) at all the positions he plays. VERY hard to imagine him having the kind of role he envisions for himself.
Take a pay cut AND a minor role? Given the chance to start afresh I have to believe TA is gone. Someone will give him a chance to do his thing again.
