Every example that the writer gives is accurate, as far as I'm concerned.
I said as much in a post soon after the game, that Goff's stats were helped a lot by Gurley.

That's ok. They're teammates. We want them to help each other.

Regarding the screens, remember how HARD those have been for some past Ram teams to execute?
Everybody's got to be on the same page, the blockers, the RB, and yes, the QB, too.

I thought the timing and arc of Goff's throw to Todd on the 80 yarder was perfect, and at least a part of what made that play go.

Whether McVay has always been saving Gurley a little for this part of the season, or whether he saw something he needed to change after the Philly game, it's clear that there's been an emphasis shift in the past two weeks.

And it's great. Absolutely great. McVay would be a fool to put the Rams playoff hopes all on the shoulders of a 23 year old QB when he has the league's best all-around offensive player fresh and raring to go in Gurley.

This is going to be the Rams recipe for playoff success. Run Gurley, Pass to Gurley (screen the **** out of defenses if they want to blitz), and play defense.

Goff will be asked to not make big mistakes (7 interceptions so far in 15 games, he's got that). AND, occasionally, because he is more than just a game manager, he'll make a big throw like the one to Kupp.

But Goff can't be their bread and butter. It's too much to ask, McVay won't ask it, and we shouldn't either.

Let the Rams play to their strengths. Let each of them, like Goff, play within their capabilities, and they'll win as a team.

Agree.....

I think I'm just a bit jaded by last year by all the negative comments about Goff, but it seems some people are chomping at the bit for Goff to fall flat on his face in a game this year. Nice to see Goff hasn't given them the pleasure of that once!
