I think it would take more than 1 season for McVay to "put it all on the table."

Anyway the real issue is not play innovation (which is what I think you mean). It's honing an attack to fit your opponent's defense. If you know how to do that then every week is different, though sometimes the variations are subtle.

But even that only goes so far against a good division opponent. In those cases you have to line up, execute, and beat guys.
