A lasting memory of going to Tavon Austin on a pass play?
And it is a Bad Vision

Keenum hits Austin right in the hands, and it zings straight up in the air. Austin not concentrating. Picked Off.
The ball is returned for a TD. It's a devastating moment.
In so many ways, this set the tone for the entire season
A players loss
Earlier, Fisher lost a game to the Bills.
A coach's loss
Season falls apart, imo, right there. Those two games the epitome of blunders, and ineptitude
But, that play right there to Austin stuck in my craw. I know he's got a lots of talent, and can just make defenders look like they are standing still, but McVay must have seen that play at some point. And, in practice, and with the wrist injury, it developed a picture for the coach.
Not to dismiss Tavon. Bravely, will go in between tackles. Doesn't always work out but that is some tough kid when he goes up the middle and giving up that much size.
On the good side, getting another week of healing on their ankles has to help Reynolds, and Higbee.
Even if they activate Woods, I think he'll be more of a decoy. If they are unwise enough to let Woods run free through the secondary after not going to him for over a quarter; Well......one kind of has to love that setup.
Even if we drop this game, I am trying not to overweight the loss. Go to Seattle, and deliver a victory and things will shape up for us anyway.
Relying on Tavon on a 9 route, or broken coverage? Sounds good, and.......sounds bad. Just don't be that guy who punches the ball up in the air for a TD the other way.
