about this: "At this point, Vikings are removed from consideration, and the tiebreaker between Eagles and Rams reverts back to step one."

I don't know that the Vikes getting the #1 ends that process of tie-breaking and the next step ensues... I think it possible the step that gives the Vikes #1 also awards the Eagles #2 then the Ram's #3... and THEN the next step in playoff determination begins. - JamesJM

James, I too am not 100% sure my “Vikings removed from consideration” sentence is correct, but I’m reasonably confident that it is. I have been unable to find something definitive on the web about it.

I think it is correct based on my reading of the following section from the Tiebreaker rules:

“Only one club advances to the playoffs in any tie-breaking step. Remaining tied clubs revert to the first step of the applicable division or Wild Card tie-breakers. As an example, if two clubs remain tied in any tie-breaker step after all other clubs have been eliminated, the procedure reverts to Step 1 of the two-club format to determine the winner. When one club wins the tiebreaker, all other clubs revert to Step 1 of the applicable two-club or three-club format.”

Also— keep in mind the results given by two apparently reliable playoff simulators (playoffpredictors.com and The NY Times). Both of these sites say that in the event of a three-way tie among Eagles Rams and Vikes at 13-3, it would be Vikes #1, Rams #2, and Eagles #3.
