Not a joke.
They honestly think that so many Philly fans are going to show up that they may outnumber LA fans and make so much noise as to disrupt the Rams! So they are going to be practicing with silent count this week.
Talk about an embarrassment for the city. Their 9-3, exciting, high scoring, division leading team can't get enough of their own fans in their own stadium to out-shout the opponent's fans? And/or they are so laid back while sipping the latest Chardonnay that they can't even give it a good "woo", but the opponents' fans can.
I remember vividly when Woods jumped into the stands at the Coliseum after scoring a TD and the fans seemed to have no clue what to do. Almost offended. Some even kind of pulled away, afraid their drink might get spilled. The next time he didn't bother; he just walked by the same folks and reached up and slapped hands. Gad.
Let's just hope the fear isn't realized. This is the National game of the week and there's going to be a lot of viewership throughout the US.
I'm not sure I care whether the Rams fans can muster a hearty cheer when the Rams do something good; but I do care if the shouts of the Eagles fans cause our offense trouble.
This is why other than for the logistics I'm not at all sure that the Rams have much of a homefield advantage.
