A. The league should increase the cutoff from 15 seconds to some higher number next year. Ok, but following this year's rule is not cheating.

B. McVay should voluntarily stop talking to Goff at 20 or 25 seconds because "cheating". Not gonna happen. Not cheating.

C. McVay should talk to Goff right up to the 15 second cutoff but not say everything he'd like to say because "cheating". Not gonna happen. Not cheating.

D. McVay should say whatever he wants to Goff right up to the 15 second cutoff, but the Rams should never break the huddle before then. Not gonna happen. Not cheating.

E. Some other option I'm missing that would make them happy? I don't believe this is about making them happy anyway.

As you can see, only A has any practicality, and who knows whether the league wants to do this or not?

My guess would be that the competition committee went through the scenarios that they wanted to avoid, probably discussed something like this, and arrived at the 15 second cutoff as the enforcement. What is in place now is the way they decided to have it.

Time for the critic's whining to stop.
