My thought was that Goff has similar attributes to Kurt, and might have the same kind of career trajectory. But as you point out, starting at a much earlier age.
To me I see Goff use his mind so much; I wasn't even sure I believed what my eyes were seeing when a few games ago the Rams began NOT huddling and Goff would come up, read the D, set the protections, and modify the play. Say what? For a 2nd year QB (and I don't care what anyone says; he's a close to rookie as you can get.....last year was mostly about stuff he had to forget, not stuff to learn) to be that mentally into the game is very good. Not saying he's the only 2nd year player to do that....I think Wentz is there as well.
And the mental part was why Kurt was so good. He was also tough as nails and calm. I think Goff has Kurt, easily, on arm strength and of course size. Also in athleticism. But I see them as similar "types". Pure drop back passers who will outsmart you, LOVE to throw down the field, are accurate, and don't cry over spilled milk. But when you see Goff's TD to INT ratio of 18 to 5 to go along with likely reaching 4000 yards this year, this is one good young QB no matter who we might compare him to.
