Keep in mind that Goff had not played in a pro style offense; I think that the rough start that he went through in his first games was inevitable.
Part of his progress this year is, no doubt, the result of better coaching and better play design; I think you are right about that, but I also think that an equal part of his improvement is the natural result of his learning to play QB at the professional level.
