Re: ok I'll give it a try

1) Down 24-13 on the road in Dallas... that was a huge comeback and had it not been for the Rams redzone issues in that game they easily could have put up a 50 burger on Dallas

2) They were down 14-0 to the Skins and 20-10 at halftime and fought back both times. At that time they didn't have a clue in terms of passing the ball.

3) Jags - they trailed in that game 14-7 before taking control on the road

Look I think this will be the stiffest test the Rams have faced to date. I have the utmost respect for what the Vikings do defensively and coaching wise. They are a super super smart staff up there. On the other hand while we love McVay as you point out the Rams can be a little loosey goosey on both sides of the ball before they actually recover... so it will not be a good idea for them to go there on the road at Minnesota. A team who has offensive weapons.

I think the last four games have been tune up games for Goff and each week he has gotten better.

I'm betting that unlike Houston... Minnesota takes their chances with Gurley and tries to focus on the Rams outside WRs

re the Seahawks game - the Rams moved the ball against that team very well. 6 redzone trips and only 3 points - they cannot turn the ball over multiple times and beat the Vikings. They just can't

I'm going to go watch the Steelers v Vikings game from week 2 tonight I want to see how the Steelers attacked them and if they had success throwing the ball down the field

I'm trying to figure out for myself what it is. Here's what I've come up with.

IMO, the best defenses we've faced so far are the Redskins, the Seahawks, the Jags, and the Texans.

In the first three of those games, the Rams offense (and Goff) struggled pretty much all game long.
Against Houston, they broke the Texan's back with some turnovers and that huge 94 yard play.
Also of great help was the fact that it was Savage QBing and not Watson.
Otherwise, the Rams might have been in trouble in that game. At home, again.

Early in last week's game, it looked to me like the Texans had the Rams' offense figured out. They were completely ready for the opening script, the PA rollouts, etc. And stuffing the run. It looked like they knew every play the Rams were going to run.

I'm a Goff guy, but I think his progress has been magnified by McVay's playcalling and the GREAT pass protection that he gets most of the time.
I'm not saying he's an illusion at all, just that looking at his outstanding stats is not, IMO, a complete picture of where he is in development at this time.

I think if the run game isn't cooking, and then play action isn't as effective, and he gets some pressure, he's still too young and green to be anything more than ordinary. At this point in his career. Let me emphasize that. I still think he's on a great trajectory, and is a learner who will keep getting better and better.

The end of the Seahawk game, when he almost led them to a last second victory, was an example, but in the end they didn't get it done.

Zimmer is a very good defensive mind. The Rams offense tends to start slow. And the run defense tends to start sloppy and loose.

I have a feeling this game might start out the way the Houston game did, except that the Vikings will make the Rams pay a much steeper price for their slow start then the Texans did. If the Rams start slow, they won't still be up 9-7 like they were last week. They'll be down, maybe by multiple scores.

Then they're behind the 8 ball, on the road against a team that's rolling and feeling it, with home crowd going nuts. And then we'll see, but I'm not confident.

I think the Rams are good frontrunners at this point. If things are going well, they seem to go great. If things aren't going well...

Convince me I'm wrong.
