Well, I do think that Higbee is improving.
Having said that, I don’t think that he is improving as fast as they expected. Or as fast as most of the rookies brought in and that are developing under these new coaches. I expected more from Higbee, and sooner, tbh.
In any case, I see Everett as our future at TE. Higbee may or may not become good enough to be our #2 TE. It’s strictly up to him.
McVay is amply qualified to make that decision, but I’ll say this. McVay is gonna have his two effective pass catching TE’s one way or another. He just is.
If Higbee soon impresses McVay, fine. If not, McVay will surely turn to the draft or FA.
Higbee probably has the ‘18 season to prove himself.
One last thing about our TE situation. Don’t go to sleep on Hemingway. I think that McVay likes him, and I mean a lot. So, stay tuned for next year on Hemingway.
