Maybe Wade is looking to get better production out of RDE and seeing how the Rams play without Quinn. Addition by subtraction as you put it. My feeling is that Quinn has almost gotten there a number of times. Close but no cigar. Still I liked the fire in his belly when he was called offsides once - had one of his sacks the nest play. Too bad it was only once!
Also taking a week off might refresh him for next week.
I do agree that this is probably a warning shot. What player doesn't play due to a 5 day illness? Calling him doubtful - 75% chance of NOT playing on Friday for a Sunday game - is pretty strange IMO.
