but I always liked him in the draft.
Tho I ALWAYS go for the big guns when drafting a QB...
I liked Wentz a ton...I liked the intangibles of Goff and thot he'd be the right choice in the right system.
Now, I still like to watch Wentz - great player....and believe Wentz IS physically, better than Goff in many ways. imo
Goff has been throwin ugly balls/off-target/low-grounders at times..and I don't like that. However, when Goff steps into his throw, he can strike with precision. Goff just needs to use better throwing form more often...and they need to design more rollouts to buy more time for more intermediate/deeper routes to develop. I think Goff throws fine on the run. He's got a pop-gun arm
(ala Warner) IF he doesn't step into his throw he's inaccurate & his balls flutter
(it happens to us all, fellas!).LOL
Warner & Montana are in the HoF so having an average arm is not prohibitive to success...but Goff is NOT passing sharply
(sans a few killer throws each game)...and I want him to clean that up. Goff is clearly thriving in the classroom & from the playbook, making good reads/audibles, etc....I'm just talking bout passing mechanics where he gets lazy 40% of the time - even in a clean pocket with little pressure. He needs to tighten that up. imo
However, there's that one way Goff is unique to me in the Wentz vs Goff comparison...Goff is
unflappable.
And in a very
flappy world...being UN-flappable is quite an asset!!
So, while Wentz has
all the other physical attributes, Goff being
unflappable may just make all the difference!!
