Title: I am confident that Woods will be a star WR for us - 7 months ago
He is complete and has the things that will make him great.
It hurt for him to drop out of first round but he did not have the fortune of being drafted by Chargers or Saints so I think he will get his chance and bring it all to bear in 2017.

Title: What is the benchmark then?
I agree we are being subjective and perhaps selective but stats alone do not do it but effectiveness and consistency as well as definite characteristics such as route running, blocking and reading defenses was well as having a high catch percentage and getting separation using technigue should not be set aside for freak measurable such as height and speed. Those things have to combine with the former requisites to take players to elite level.
Now there are a great many stars in the league then there are elite players so I would have no problem identifying mediocre or average players.
Britt looked like a star WR but his measurable still did not make him elite. Quick was average or sub par if you look at his product but in the right system and with a fresh start has ability to exceed Britt.
I have no doubt there are WRs that have the potential to exceed Woods but based on him being signed so definitively and early in FA I suspect he is seen as an exceptionally good fit for Rams and not just to say we signed a WR. I have to believe he is also seen as an upgrade to Kinney Britt.
Los Angeles Rams
Rap on.
