There probably isn't a hard rule on what distance constitutes "a bomb". But I'd suggest it would start at 40+ yards in the air. The only completion like that this year that I can recall was the beautiful over the shoulder catch by Watkins. But there was probably one or two that I don't remember.
As a rule the teams that throw in that range--31 or more yards---are doing it A LOT if they throw 5-6% of total attempts in that range.
Last year in Washington Cousins, under McVay, threw those 4.3% of the time. That;'s not low but it's not among the top teams doing that. This year the Rams have thrown less than that.
