I have to admit. At the beginning of the season when our uber-optimistic 43 predicted a 10-6 record, I was thinking ... I just don't see it.
Now, 7 games in with a 5-2 record, it's obviously more realistic. They would have to go 5-4 the rest of the way. Let's run down the rest of the schedule:
Giants - This SHOULD be a win - 6-2
Texans - Even without Watt they are tough on defense and we've seen how good defenses slow us down. I see a tough, close game here, but a loss - 6-3
Vikings - Vikings are tough on defense but their offense isn't much. A win - 7-3
Saints - If we can keep Brees in check, this is a win. - 8-3
Cardinals - I think they're done. A win - 9-3
Eagles - Should be the game of the week. At this point I think the Eagles are a bit better than us so I think this is a loss - 9-4
Seahags - In Seattle, always tough. Unfortunately I think the Hags continue to get all the luck and the refs calls, so a loss - 9-5
Titans - Titans can be tough, but our Rams are the better team. A win - 10-5
49ers - At home, this should be a win - 11-5
Wow, did I just predict we're gonna go 11-5??? In looking at it like this, it sure looks possible, doesn't it? Let's hope they stay healthy, that'll be the key.
There ya go, RFSLA.
TBH, I don’t concede that game to the Eagles just yet. I see it as a tossup, at worst. Maybe give the Rams 3 points for the home field? And if the Rams continue to improve between now and then, look out!
And the Seahawks? We play well on he road and heaven knows we outplayed them once already. I don’t see this evolving Ram team giving them 5 turnovers again. Lol.
Yup, 11-5 (or better) is a distinct possibility, I think.
Good points on those two games, and I hope you're right! I don't want to count the chickens before they've hatched, but now it is looking like 10-6 might be our floor!
It's really an unusual feeling...being optimistic and excited about this team almost halfway through a season. It's been a looooooooong time.
