I can see the change you propose possibly happening down the road but I'd be stunned if it happened any time soon.
AO just got an extension. It's probably not to immediately change his position. If that was the plan, they should of changed his position first, seen how he responded and produced, and then give him the extension.
They are smart enough to know that way would be most prudent. Which makes me believe that changing his position now isn't in the works.
