Like Goff and some others he's a very young, inexperienced player. And just like Goff his rookie year gets a pass in my opinion. And regardless he's now still only played in 21 NFL games. Until the last two games he'd been targeted 36 times (14 the past two weeks). So things might just now be starting to click for him and I think catches like he's made the past two games are probably big confidence builders.
I don't think he's going to average 7 targets/game by any means and overall I think Everett is going to end up down the road being more productive. But he does have a definite role in this offense, Goff likes him, and he's improving. Very much a work in progress. They need him to be a guy catching 60%+ of his targets (47.6% right now).
Also keep in mind only three TEs from the 2016 Draft have been more productive than him so far (Henry, Hooper and Devalve). I don't think he's behind in his development as a young TE.
By the way I would like to see his size leveraged more in red zone opportunities. In my opinion their base red zone package should always include Higbee, Everett and Reynolds. Use your guys that have size and can jump.
