The artificial turf at the Dome that Faulk played on was more like playing on cement but artificial turf has improved significantly over the past 30 years. The turf in the Dome was replaced several times over the years, each time with one that was supposedly better than the previous one. The turf they played on in 2015 was totally different than the turf they played on in 1999.
