The offense is much better with TA than without. His speed and ability to run in space make the defense use resources they would otherwise use to key on Gurley or rush the passer. It makes the defensive backs hesitate. It gives the offense an advantage. The jet sweep to Austin and the threat of it stretches the defense, it helps to create space when Gurley runs. The pleathera of good receivers stretch the defense. The offensive line kept Goff clean and opened holes for Gurley. All of the offensive options helped Gurley without them he would not have had near as much success as he did today. Teams that crowed the line of scrimmage against this offense will get burned unlike last year. I was very happy to see how much room Gurley had to run today. He often was down the field four yards before being touched. Dallas tried to cover him with a linebacker out of the backfield. McVay's play calling and the multitude of threats allow this offense to succeed. Last week Watkins and Woods had big games, this week it was Gurley, next week it could be Gurley, Watkins, Woods, Krupp, Everett or Austin.
