I have been saying it is asking too much to expect this team to quickly transition into a 3-4 and become the Phillips defense of the Broncos and Texans. Phillips is now realizing his formula is not magic. He stepped into good situations in Denver and Houston. Not so much in LA.
That said.....I think it will take about four or five games for the players to stop "thinking" and start "playing". It will get better. But don't expect a defense that allows ~10 points per game. it will be more a ~20 point/game defense. Until then....expect ~ 30 points/game. The only reason why Carlos Hyde did not go crazy last night was because 49ers were playing from behind. The Rams run D is very weak right now. Any game where they fall behind early.....is going to be very dificult to win.
