I liked Alvin Haymond back in the late 60's.....That cat could scoot and I liked the name. Leroy Irvin has to come up he was a real fast guy and moves too. I think Bruce started out doing the job but really just remember his blocked kick. Of course Az was electric touching the ball. Which brings me to Tavon......I think the guy has lost confidence...he talks a game but is no way consistent. He needs to hit the north south ASAP....get what you can and maybe pop it big.......He's being paid big, but that's not on him...he just signed the paper. I think he is in a down thinking but runs his mouth to overcome that.....
When he came in he made plays that the team defeated by penalty.....He has scored quite a few TD's that did not count. But as a returner in the punt game who do you like the best....
Hammond was my earliest favorite, that I can remember. Started rooting for the Rams a coupla years before he joined them, but I can't remember anyone before him. He had a great year as PR in 1969, and then a great KR year in 1970.
Just a lot of fun to watch him juke the other team out of their shoes.
Then came Hakim. He was faster than Hammond, but wasn't as sudden. Though, much of that was pure deception. Hakim could shake and bake with the best of them, but seemed to do it almost in slow motion at times. He must have driven opposing teams crazy with that, like he wasn't quite in their dimension.
Yep, the Rams have had their share of great PR and KR returners. Ron Brown, Tony Horne, Travis Williams too.
