I guess that could be interpreted two ways.

A. This guy is a cupcake and we don't think he can perform under pressure.

or

B. It has now been established that if you give Goff time, he will assassinate you, so you better get some pressure on him.

I like B.

But the way that Swearinger put it in the article, "he'll throw us the ball", I'm thinking he means A.
