or you wouldn't keep misstating it over and over again.

When a deal says "I WILL employ you next year, and I MAY decide to employ you the year after that", I am not "tearing up the deal" if I decide not to employ you the second year. It is IN THE DEAL that the 2nd year is optional for me.

What do you NOT understand about that RFIP?

Conversely, if I DO want to employ you in year 2, you do not have the option of walking away and doing the same work for someone else.

Is that fair? Wrong question!!

It's in the deal. If you don't want that in the deal, if you want to be a free agent in year two, then do not sign the deal.

I have NO problem with you posting about why you think the NFLPA or the individual player should negotiate a better deal for themselves.
I have NO problem with you describing how you think the contracts SHOULD be structured.

But it's just factually wrong to say that the owners are "tearing up deals" at their discretion.

They are abiding by the terms of the contract that both sides agreed.

Anything else is just whining.

Now if you can PRODUCE an NFL contract that states; "I WILL employ you next year, and I MAY decide to employ you the year after that" then we could pick this up again.

Either way, what I am saying is the deck is stacked totally against the player. Under perform your deal and they cut you, over perform it and they want to hold you to it and turn the fans against you.

One thing is for sure, there will be no football in 2021 unless by scabs.

The language below is in every single player contract he signs in Section 11 of Appendix A, NFL Player Contract:

11. SKILL, PERFORMANCE AND CONDUCT. Player understands that he is competing
with other players for a position on Club’s roster within the applicable player
limits. If at any time, in the sole judgment of Club, Player’s skill or performance has been
unsatisfactory as compared with that of other players competing for positions on Club’s
roster, or if Player has engaged in personal conduct reasonably judged by Club to adversely
affect or reflect on Club, then Club may terminate this contract. In addition,
during the period any salary cap is legally in effect, this contract may be terminated if, in
Club’s opinion, Player is anticipated to make less of a contribution to Club’s ability to
compete on the playing field than another player or players whom Club intends to sign
or attempts to sign, or another player or players who is or are already on Club’s roster,
and for whom Club needs room.

This language is even more rigid than what Sag stated. It doesn’t promise employment any year.

The deck is definitely stacked against the players but it’s not totally stacked against them.

Consider the whole concept of guaranteed money. How many of us work for employers that guarantee anything?

Thanks, and that is the language that's going to shut this league down in 2021 imo.

R.I.P. Nelson aka TonyHunter87 1971 - 2017 far too soon..

Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM

No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
