The MLB announcer you might be thinking of is the female announcer for the San Fran. Giants. But she's the in stadium announcer so her voice might be different on television. Personally, I don't really care about how they sound as long as they know what they are doing and understand the game. I'm not sure about your comment on gender either. I would like to think you are right but I'm not sold given the high level of machoism associated with the game. Its just too different than what they are used to. Obviously that doesn't apply to you.
