I think she's doing a good job. First woman ever. We are so used to male announcers that we immediately don't care for a woman. She knows what she's doing.
No one here has said they don't believe she knows what she's doing or that she's doing a bad job. It's not her lack of experience, her gender or even the content of her words that's the issue. It's the sound, tonality, and inflections in her voice that are grating and thus make for an unpleasant delivery. There's a female announcer who calls MLB games and she also knows her stuff. Unlike Beth, the sound of her voice doesn't grate on your last nerve. I can't think of her name at the moment but I'll bet ya'll know who I'm talking about.
I'd like to suggest that she just try calling a game in her normal speaking voice and see how that works.... unless this IS her normal speaking voice and if it is.... ewwww.
