We relied on fringe players like Spruce to show up, work hard and move this team forward.
I feel bad for him, but this alone means we are improving.
Despite one disastrous preseason first quarter, this teams offense is on the upswing, and it's a lot of the rookies that are making that happen. I've championed Spruce, and love guys that just work hard and catch the ball. The Pats are built on guys like this, so I'd hate to see him go. But the Pats are also build on "do for me now", and not guys that are potentially great. Every time I buy a lottery ticket, the rub is "gotta play to win". Works in this too
