On 3 and 7 Goff in Shotgun takes the snap and rolls to his left. At the same time Sammy Bosa made an outside move on Haventstein and blew by him like he was standing still. Just as Goff was planting his feet to make the throw as he was looking into the endzone Bosa nailed him and did a strip move on the ball just as he was getting to Goff. A great play by Bosa all the way. Havenstein was actually in position to fall on the ball but did not react. If you want to blame that fumble on anyone it should be Havenstein. Why? Because Goff is rolling to his left and not looking to his right and has no idea Bosa is coming and why should he? Bosa is very fast was coming at Goff at top speed. Goff had no time to react. No QB could have reacted to that. To say that was due to Goff being pocket unaware is just plain BS.

Here is what I see on the replay--
Goff was in shotgun....he took the snap....took about a 5 step drop straight back from there.....right before he was hit he shuffled to his left a couple of steps..it was no more than a yard. He was in throwing position the entire play. That wasn't a roll out....it was a straight drop back with a shuffle to the left. He was looking for either Higbee underneath or Watson in the endzone....both on the left side.
He got hit about 2.9 seconds from the snap.
So Goff could improve his pocket awareness...he also needs to speed up the clock is his head.....and Hav can't get beat like that, although Bosa is a beast. Maybe the Rams shouldn't leave Hav without help on key pass plays against elite pass rushers.
Lots of blame to go around.
