So, I went back and watched the first drive again. Every pass Goff threw was on the money. That drive was as good as any drive the Rams had last week vs the Raiders. He threw a strike to Higbee downfield that Higbee dropped but the Charger defender was called for a P.I. I am not sure that was a good call by the ref but, Higbee had it right in his breadbasket and should have caught it. Goff made one over throw to the back of the endzone because the receiver was covered.
On 3 and 7 Goff in Shotgun takes the snap and rolls to his left. At the same time Sammy Bosa made an outside move on Haventstein and blew by him like he was standing still. Just as Goff was planting his feet to make the throw as he was looking into the endzone Bosa nailed him and did a strip move on the ball just as he was getting to Goff. A great play by Bosa all the way. Havenstein was actually in position to fall on the ball but did not react. If you want to blame that fumble on anyone it should be Havenstein. Why? Because Goff is rolling to his left and not looking to his right and has no idea Bosa is coming and why should he? Bosa is very fast was coming at Goff at top speed. Goff had no time to react. No QB could have reacted to that. To say that was due to Goff being pocket unaware is just plain BS.
