It might not be a bad idea to see how the defense plays without him for 6 or 7 games. Then the Rams FO can make their decision... On the flip side if the defense tanks, then Donald's agents will probably want "double" what's on the table.
Yeah the Rams should have done that in the 70s with Jack Youngblood.
Find out whether your defense really needs a top player and representative "face of the franchise" leader type.
