The Rams said many times they wanted to keep Jenkins. They said that keeping their secondary intact that year was Priority #1.

Furthermore, they were trying to work out an extension with Jenkins for at least a year prior to him leaving.

Jenkins left because he was insulted with their offers. They low balled him.

If they determined they couldn't pay him, it's because they did a bad job assessing his value. I bet they wish they had him now for $12.5 mil. per year instead the TruJ franchise tag disaster.

I'm starting to suspect that low balling their players and pushing them away is an issue.
