I wasn't particularly impressed by either Mannion or Orlovsky. Especially Orlovsky. If Goff goes down, I fear that we are in worse shape than I had previously thought.
Really? Honestly?
I thought Mannion looked great playing with scrubs and making lots of excellent throws. He was really unlucky with drives that stalled due to someone's mistake.
I think Mannion is pretty clearly at least a solid #2.
As for Orlovsky, he had no real chance to do anything. I dunno what his last-minute stint demonstrated one way or the other.
Ah well ... we see things differently.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, RFL.

Mannion was 18/25 for 144 yards. No TD's. Six points. Three of which were after a late Cowboy turnover leaving Mannion in good field position.
I believe he played for all but the 8 plays given to Goff and the last 4 minutes or so given to Orlovsky. That's six points in approx 50 minutes.
Sooooo...
Some good and some mediocre in there, I think.
BTW, I didn't say that Mannion was terrible. Or even bad. I just said that I wasn't impressed. And I wasn't.
Mannion might have an NFL future. I hope so. McVay gives him a leg up, at least. I doubt that the last chapter on Mannion's NFL career has yet been written. We'll see.
