then, just based on how many snaps there are in a game, it would seem that Mannion and Orlovsky will get
far more snaps than Goff will.
What sense does that make, unless your starter was nursing an injury or is such a well-versed veteran that he doesn't need a preseason?
IMO, Goff needs as much work with his new receivers and new offense as he can get, before regular season and the w and l's start counting.
This is the first McVay decision that has me scratching my head.
So much so, that I wonder if that is really the way it's going to work out.
Sometimes, of course, the starters only play 1 Q and if the offense is no good, or the defense is no good, the other team ends up dominating the TOP.
So it only amounts to a handful of snaps.
But that shouldn't be the plan.
