I don't think Fisher saw himself as a fit for the LA scene. His idea of where he wanted to be was trout fishing in Montana (or somewhere like that). Not making fun of him. But he was never a "large market" kind of guy. The stash and Cheshire Cat grin might work in Nashville and St. Louis; not in LaLaLand.
But, he made a boatload of money in his 5 year gig with Kroenke, and while I think it surprised him to be fired during the season, he was never coming back anyway. Things had gotten too out of whack.
