Assuming the guy is right, then maybe we won't see him today or tomorrow.
But at this point, if I'm the Rams, I'm still shutting down negotiations unless they are within an eyelash of getting it done.
And frankly, even if AD didn't report until the final week before the regular season, I imagine he'll still play a lot against the Colts.
Rams need to publicly change their stance on this. Not vilifying AD or getting personal; but saying that he is under contract and needs to get his butt into camp. Think Jerry Jones would stand for this? Robert Kraft/Bill Bellicheck? They would not be coddling this guy. The better teams don't tip their hat and ask "May I have some more, please?" to guys pulling this stunt. And AD is in the wrong.
My vote in the (metaphorical) ongoing informal poll on Donald differs from yours.
I don't criticize him for the hold out and also tend to focus on the fact that we really do not know what's going on. The local LA reporters seem to indicate the issue with the contract is structure and so on and don't paint this as a player forcing contract revision on a team---this is a completely mutual process of getting the guy an extension. I tend to go with that.
So yeah our "votes" are different. Which is fine.
The Rams have a long history of hold outs. The first one I was aware of as a fan was in 1980. At that point it was Brooks and Youngblood.
