That you are attempting to project an outcome based on review of one game.
The NFL is really a week to week proposition, each game stands on its own to develop a cumulative picture.
It is possible to see some good things in a game, but are they consistent from week to week is the question you have to ask yourself.
Take the New Orleans game, good right? The good things he did in that game did you see them consistently? No
Why because different factors present themselves from game to game.
You notice the poise he showed against the Pats. Now look at the post up above and take note of the poise he didn't show against other opponents.
There were several games where he did take his eyes off the rush, and lose perspective of the field.
I'm not criticizing you here I just believe you need to take a larger sample size to form any conclusions.
Look at ALL 7 games then you can determine better what needs to be learned and what attributes he has that are innate.
1. Goff was saddled with an incompetent coaching staff on offense.
Do we agree on that?2. The offensive line was suckaroo.
Do we agree with that?3. There was no running game.
Do we agree with that?4. His receivers couldn't catch a cold.
Do we agree with that?5. He had a lead against the Dolphins and made a key first down that non-thinking offensive lineman gave up with an unnecessary penalty.
Do we agree with that?6. In a game that the Rams defense dominated most the day against the Dolphins they suddenly could not protect a lead in the 4th quarter.
Do we agree with that?7. In the 49er game at the Coliseum he had a two TD lead in the 4th quarter against them and the defense blew that game too.
Do we agree with that?8. So, Goff very easily could have had at least two wins under his belt last season.
Do we agree with that?9. There were others in the league who assessed Goff as the best talent in the draft at QB in 2016 besides the Rams.
Do we agree with that?10. Lets not forget the 1st half of the Saints game in which Goff had the Rams in the game at half time trailing 28-21 but the defense couldn't handle the Saints on offense in the 2nd half.
Do we agree with that?Goff didn't have a fair shot with this team last season for many reasons we are both well aware of. Much of it having to do with how the team was put together by Fisher and Snead and how it was coached.
Yes, none of us know what the season ahead holds for Goff or us as fans. But I'd say its fair to say that we cannot predict with any certainty it going to be negative either.
