I was working at AT&T when the Rams won the SuperBowl. There was a gift shop in my building that had a large sports merchandise section with lots of stuff from local college and professional teams. There was almost always some kind of autographed item in a locked glass case from the St Louis Blues, or St Louis Cardinals, or St Louis Rams. Not long after SB34, a male co-worker and I were browsing in the gift shop when we saw two Kurt Warner autographed full-size Riddell helmets and two Kurt Warner autographed jerseys. I wasn't much of a football fan at the time. The co-worker explained to me that the Rams were changing their colors and that someday those signed items might prove to be valuable. They came with certificates, etc.
I don't collect autographs or memorabilia, but something told me to buy an autographed helmet and jersey right then, so I did. My co-worker bought the other set (he has since sold his). And now that Warner is being inducted into the Hall of Fame, I'm REALLY glad I did it.
