What All-Everything, scare you to death WR has helped win the Superbowl in recent memory?
NE's best WR is Edelman, a 5'10" sub 200 lb., 4.50 forty guy. Second best? Amendola. Not counting Gronk of course, but he didn't play in the last Pats SB win.
How about the Seahawks? Doug Baldwin. Nearly identical in H/W/S to Edelman.
Julio Jones's are great to have. Dez Bryants's are great to have. AJ Hills are great to have. Freaks, all of them. But when is the last time this was the ingredient needed to win the Superbowl?
Defense is more important. A really good and consistent QB is more important. An efficient, creative and productive offense with a good balance is more important. Scare-you WRs are not that important.
Besides, I do think the Rams have at least 1 scare-you WR: Tavon Austin. That Fisher could never figure out how to use him was not Austin's fault. McVay will use his speed and extraordinary movement abilities.
And, don't underestimate Cooper Kupp. On paper, Jerry Rice wasn't all that. All he did was beat you every imaginable way. That's Kupp.....at least it was in college.
And, don't let Everett fly under the radar. Not this year; but next year Everett and Higbee could form a seriously difficult tandem to defend.
Further, mismatches are mostly about scheme; getting a great big guy on a little guy, or getting a really fast guy on a not so fast guy. Or going against a defenses weaknesses.
and a #1 wr in the league.
But I'm confused, are you saying that All-World #1 wr have to be a certain size?
If so I highly disagree.
Edleman, Steve Smith, Antonio Brown ALL small receivers and #1's.
