I tend to lean toward the more conservative view and not give people who messed up in the past the benefit of the doubt.
They have to show me some positive results first. All we have now are hopeful expectations. I don't like drawing conclusions based on expectations without visible results, wins.
We kinda agree on that, max.
For example:
Fisher got his 5 years (almost).
He had full autonomy on football personnel matters, including the Snead hire.
He failed 6 ways from Sunday.
So he's now fairly blamed and he's gone.
But Demoff has done a helluva lot more right than wrong, imo. Contract structuring and negotiation wise, that is, which is his part of the equation. Looks like the McVay hire was a HR at this point, too.
Jury is out on Snead. There have been hits and there have been misses. But I will always wonder about Fisher's influence on FA and draft picks during those first 5 years. Not to mention Fisher's incompetence (there's that word again) in developing O players. I submit that the overall hit rate under Snead has exceeded league averages, however.
We agree that the on field results are the final grade and are yet to be determined. But I think that it's fair to say that things are looking encouraging so far.
Stay tuned, buddy. This looks to be shaping up as a good ride in '17.
