Donald is under contract. For 2 more years.
He is obligated to play; he cannot play for anyone else. He is owed what his contract says he's owed and no more.
Donald owes the Rams as well.
This one sided outlook that makes Donald a near-victim and the Rams bad-guys makes no sense in sports just like it makes no sense in business.
The Rams openly admit that Donald is outplaying his contract. But in sports, that happens.
Some guys (most guys ?) don't play up to their contract; a few play over it. Hopefully it evens itself out.
Donald needs to be patient. If I'm the Rams, out of courtesy I will certainly talk contract. But no way do I make Donald the highest paid DT.....yet.
Maybe in a year in order to avoid the Franchise Tag Tango for 2019 that Donald is going to hate because the money is not going to be to his liking.
