No one has any tape on our offense or defense. All new systems.
Coaching, I will live and die with these offensive and defensive philosophies, we may lose a game or two but we are no longer the stupidest guy in the room (Jeff Fisher). McVay has the "it" factor, and he relates to his players. He was constantly congratulating his players as they came off the field. When McVay had the Colts down he kept using the same system that got him there, he constantly attacked. Wade Phillips substituted personnel but he constantly attacked, no prevent defense.
I will take our defense and special teams over anybody.
Offense, we have a stable of running backs, the kid from USC is going to make an impression on our O. Our receivers are very very good and only going to get better every week. We have the number 4 pick in a deep draft and I pray we resign him. Sammy Watkins is going to get medieval on some of these guys. Robert Woods I thought should have been a first round pick, he has always been one of my favorite players. When the Rams signed him I was in shock. It was so unram like. Cooper Cupp is a stud and already has a bond with Goff. Tavon Austin as a fourth receiver can you say toast. I am not a Tavon fan as a go to guy, as a specialty player there is no LB or 4 th corner that can cover him.
Our O Line. When we signed Whitworth as a LT for the right amount of money and the right amount of years, again unram like. Top 10 Left tackle in the game. Roger Saffold wild card, I have seen him destroy people but he is not an earth mover. I wish Jamon Brown was our center, and we get a new right guard and tackle. Sullivan is ok, I am not a Havenstein guy. I would take our 3 TE's with anybody. Evertt reminds me off an Ozzie Newsome, he is not tall but he is fast has great hands and is always open. If you put him on the outside in the redone he is a mismatch.
Our QB with this coach, this system, this defense playing on a short field the majority of the time is outstanding.
Again we have two coaches that if you give them enough time will kill you. McVay looks like a young Bill Walsh. Phillips took the Broncos defense and made even better. The Broncos did not win the Super Bowl because of Peyton Manning, they won because Wade Phillips out D everybody.
I know it sound crazy but why not us?
