The reason they traded him as opposed to cutting him was to save 3.3 M on the cap.

Just cutting him would have meant no savings.

But yeah now we know. cool smiley

Though that was clear even before the trade. Gonzalez reported that in minicamp he was taking his snaps with the scout team. I think he posted that yesterday. That was a bad sign right there, far worse then being demoted to the 2s.
