When you are picking at #2 overall you are always looking at the top talent. You better be sure about the production and football IQ as well or you are rolling the dice.
Ross Tucker said the Rams picking Robinson is typical of a losing organization. There is some truth in that, but good teams still get things wrong in the draft. The big thing for me is that you should never accept the failure as bad luck without being circumspect about what you did. The hope here is that Snead has learned from this huge mistake and McVay understands the value of production and football IQ.
Just saying, "oh well, everybody and their mother had Robinson in the top 10" is a recipe for perennial losing.
