I don't disagree that we had plenty of OL (especially with the additions of Whitworth and Sullivan). But the point is that Snead has been saying for a couple of years that most good NFL OL come from 4th round onward. Ever heard Fisher say any such thing?
I think the Rams drafts have been disjointed under Fisher. Austin in a power running offense? Goff in a power running, run first offense? Now does GRob fit in a run first offense? YOU BET. That was his forte in college.
We know pretty much what McVay wants to run.....the Redskins offense. And the draft looked exactly like that. Flex TE. Bigger sure handed WRs known for getting open. And then D players that more fit Wade's 3-4. While people might argue with the players, the positions and kinds of players had a symmetry to them. No 6'6" 275 lb blocking TEs. No Austin sized WRs.
Everything points towards GRob being a Fisher pick. Nothing that I can think of about that pick follows the philosophy that we've all heard Snead state publicly.
