All people can feel hope or skepticism to the degree that suits each one of them, as far as I am concerned.

I personally expect improvement, for a lot of reasons

BUT there are some differences between 99 and 2017.

99 was Vermeil's 3rd year. He had time to build in what he needed, both in terms of talent and in terms of philosophy.

The qb was not a 2nd year guy. In fact Warner was an undrafted FA in Green Bay in 94. Since then he had played in the arena league, done some college coaching, and played in NFL europe. He made the Rams in 98 and so 99 was his 3rd training camp. The time from 94 to 99 was 6 years. He wasn't a 2nd year youngster at that point.

I would never say never to this, but, I would say "not likely."
