TEs are a huge part of McVays offensive system.

His offense in Wash led the league in TE production, not as blockers, but as RECEIVERS.

When McVay gets to LA he immediately dumps Kendricks who was a better blocker than receiver (though thats not saying much cause he stunk as a receiver). McVay then overdrafts Everett cause he is obsessed with throwing the ball to his TEs. Now he has Higbee and Everett as his primary TEs and neither of those guys are gonna be much help to Gurley, but thats not the primary concern for McVay. He is focused on the passing game.
