A Mike Martz philosophy I always agreed with ...

May 07, 2017 08:48AM
... was to draft a quarterback every year.

Not necessarily in the first or second or third round ... but somewhere. Find a kid who fits what you're trying to do, and what you like to do, and who can possibly be molded.

If nothing else, there's a chance to develop a quarterback other teams might eventually covet. A player who becomes a valuable, trade-able asset in a quarterback-starved league.
