There are certain things about the college game that I like better, too.
But I hope you understand that my post was not about shortcomings in the college game.
Rather, it is that because the college game is different; and because the mentality of the kids is different; and because they learn differently now than 15 or 20 years ago; then the NFL is flailing around partly frustrated about it, and partly not wanting to change (in whatever way) to deal with the reality.
And there are only two practical solutions: 1) Change the NFL game to more mirror the college game. Or 2), realize that certain positions like QB and OL are going to have a longer development cycle and the way of teaching and communication must be more in line with the players mentality....that is, change the expectations.
A third solution, and it's a bigger one, is to revise this current asinine CBA to something which allows a reasonable learning opportunity for the players. You mentioned it in your OP, but I think that it is a huge improvement that needs to happen.
Players want it.
Coaches want it.
Fans want it.
Sooooo...
