I try to look at things objectively, so that makes me a doomster considering the ineptness of this franchise the last several years. I'm from Missouri, so they'll need to "Show Me" before I start to believe. My 1st 3 picks would've been Lamp, Godwin and Perine, so I'm not really on the same page as McVay right now. I'm going to need time and proof that this team is headed into a positive direction before I become a Hopester. I hope all of these draft picks become major contributors, but I'd be surprised if there were 3 from the lot that do. In fairness, McVay did not get a favorable draft this year considering he didn't have a no. 1 pick. He does bring youth and enthusiasm that is a breath of fresh air. I'm looking forward to TC and the development of this team.
Show me? Hell yes. Me, too. But in sports, every team must prove it on the field, every game, every season.
Again, I'd just suggest that you consider the limits of what "the ineptness of this franchise the last several years" tells us. There is a brand new HC and a proven DC, and the GM is trying to shape the roster to fit their vision. I don't see what recent history tells us about all of that.
I am not asking you to be hopeful. My point cuts both ways. Hopesters, too, forget the limits of what they know. I simply ask us to remember to recognize the limits of what we know. That's it.
