And it makes perfect sense to me.
McVay is starving for receivers on this team. I fully expect them to take one at 37. And then get their Center in the 3rd or 4th round.
Wade will have to make due with what he has on the roster. And he has a lot more to work with than McVay does on offense.
Dunno Max....if there is a corner there at 37 with a much higher score then what's available at other positions, they're taking him. No guarantee Tru is coming back in 2018 and good corners at cheap rookie deals are hard to find. As bad as I want to see a playmaker at WR or TE at 37, it won't shock me if they go CB or Safety or Edge. BPA is the way to go.
There will be some solid WR's in round 3
They could afford to draft, in alphabetical order, a
CB,
Center,
DE,
OLB/edge rusher,
TE,
WR. Maybe a
safety too since both Joyner and Alexander will be FAs next year. Coincidentally, as we all know, almost all of those positions are very deep this draft.
I think the offense will make strides no matter how many O players they draft. Not that they don't draft O of course, I just think that there's going to be progress either way.
I think if they get a couple of key components on D (like a DE) they could be setting up one of the best Rams Ds we've seen.
Nothing they do at 37 would surprise me.
I just think they will go for the best value there. For example I don't think they force a receiver pick at 37 if there is a top defensive choice there.
